Hudson Valley Healthcare Profile June 2008
Kingston Dental Associates has been providing quality dental care to the community of Kingston and the Hudson Valley for almost two decades. Dr. Steven Grossman, a local resident, along with his son, Dr. Matthew S. Grossman, offers a wide range of general and preventative services, in addition to cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
“We always give 100 percent to our patients all of the time, and always in a very gentle and caring way,” says Dr. Steven Grossman.
Kingston Dental has long been a regional pioneer in the use of new technology and many advanced dental procedures. While CAD/CAM technology (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) is only now being recognized by the dental industry as “the future of dental restorations,” Kingston Dental has utilized it to fabricate precise dental restorations for over seven years. A high level of skill is crucial in fabricating restorations with CAD/CAM, and not all dentists have experience or training with the technology.
Because of this technology, a patient’s typical two-visit tooth restoration is accomplished in one visit, thus avoiding impressions, a temporary restoration, and a return visit. This treatment, known as CEREC Single Day Restoration, is only offered at a small number of dental practices in the area.
“We are very well informed of all new technology offered in dentistry, and are aggressive about incorporating it into the use of our practice,” says Dr. Steven Grossman. Ten years ago, long before it became commonplace in the Hudson Valley, digital x-ray was introduced at Kingston Dental, as were computers in every operatory.
Other popular services offered at Kingston Dental include the “BriteSmile” one-hour teeth whitening system, Invisalign clear aligners, Straumann dental implant placement, and VELscope oral cancer screening. Patient convenience was the primary consideration behind the introduction of electronic claim submissions and a new, interactive web site that processes appointment requests.
Dr. Steven Grossman attended Adelphi College before receiving his degree in dentistry from New York University. Dr. Matthew S. Grossman attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison before graduating from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Steven Grossman is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the New York State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Matthew Grossman is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of Computerized Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry and, the New York State Dental Society.
Other valued members of the dental team include Dr. Edward Drescher, an oral maxillofacial surgeon; Dr. William Brinkerhoff, an orthodontist; and a friendly team of dental hygienists, dental assistants, and office staff. As Dr. Matthew S. Grossman advises, “people should look for a dentist and dental team that are committed to their patients and their needs. We treat our patients as part of our family.”
